Common man’s power

National capital of India – Delhi had it’s election last week. The election and it’s result was under lime light for last week. Here we share our views about it.

Why Delhi elections were so important? – It’s been a prestige to win the Delhi polls for the political parties. Each had their own reasons. Congress in a serious position to get back it’s fame, BJP to establish it’s so-called “Modi wave” and AAP to prove it’s strength again.

Twists took place – Being election time many political stunts took place. Among them Kiran Bedi joining B.J.P was considered as the biggest one. Many heads moving here and there also took place. Shaazia Ilmi from AAP to BJP, various AAP leaders quitting the party. Even the Imam of Delhi offered his support to AAP. Kejriwal declining the support was viewed as a great and courageous decision.

People’s verdict – It was quite complex to predict the results (But, some pre-poll statistics predicted AAP might get it). Since, BJP was so confident about it’s “Modi-wave”, AAP confident about it’s 49 day governance and reforms. Even many political observers predicted BJP will win the captial. The people’s verdict was totally different. Yes, they voted for a change, against corruption, against VIP culture. Even AAP wouldn’t have thought such a huge victory(67/70) ,which the Kejriwal expressed in his sworn-in ceremony.

AAP’s attitude: To be frank Kejriwal seemed to learn lot of lessons in his 49 day tenure. He spoke that even AAP had ahankaar(arrogance) because of which it lost in Parliment polls. No other political leader would have such a guts to accept this. He also added that if required he will get counsel from Kiran Bedi(BJP’s CM candidate) and Ajay Makken(congress’ CM candirate). Freeing himself(Kejriwal) from cabinets is also been viewed as a good decision.

Practical issues – Delhi is completely a different state when compared to others in India. Being national captial it lacks power. Most of the power vests with the Central government including the Delhi police. To run a smooth government the AAP should have a soft-approach with the central government. And the central govt., should also not show a step-mother attitude towards Delhi since, it saw a worst defeat(3/70) in the Capital.

Definitely, the 2015 Delhi polls is a historic one. This is a time for every political party to self-check themselves, since people are frustrated by the political parties. The revolution has started. Please change yourselves, else the people will remove you. Revolution against corruption is started in the captial and we wish it should spread all over the India. We didn’t mean it should be AAP but any party or person. All we need is a change.
